This small kitchen refurbishment was carried out in a fourth-floor penthouse apartment in Luton. All materials and equipment had to be transported via the lift or stairs, requiring careful planning and coordination. Despite the access constraints, the kitchen was efficiently updated to improve functionality and finish, with the apartment benefiting from views overlooking Luton Hoo Memorial Park.

We renovated the kitchen by carefully updating the space while respecting the cottage’s original character. The old layout was opened up to improve light and flow, and worn fixtures were replaced with modern, energy-efficient fittings. Traditional elements were repaired or reused where possible, while new cabinetry, worktops, and appliances were chosen to complement the age of the building. The result is a practical, contemporary kitchen that still reflects the history and charm of the old farm worker cottage.
